Experience design studio based in Belgium

Experience is everywhere. Especially in the places nobody designs for.

Complex, technical industries usually put experience design last. A farmer isn't your typical user persona. Neither is a police officer working the immigration desk, or an engineer sizing a wind turbine. And yet they show up to work every day — into processes, systems and services nobody designed for. They deserve a good experience too.

Here's what that looks like
Justine Vertommen, product designer

“Hi! I’m Justine Vertommen, the designer behind JUNE. Two things I can’t help doing: making processes better, and putting the person using them first.”

Four problems, solved.

A new standard for digital assets in global finance.

Swift's digital-asset standardization platform, launched this year as part of their move toward digitalization. I led design through a deeply ambiguous, ever-evolving brief — running a long discovery to align stakeholders and shape a moving concept into something concrete.

Sizing a wind turbine, before anyone had to guess.

Deciding whether a wind farm project was worth accepting meant combining what five people knew — the field engineer who'd seen the land, the shipping manager who knew whether a truck could reach it, the specialists who knew foundations and models and costs. Most of it lived in Excel or in someone's head. Over a year, with one other designer, I designed the platform where all of it could come together: plain-language inputs for specialist knowledge, the right question to the right person, and options you could compare at a glance.

Smarter fertilization for responsible farming.

Farmers lacked clear data to fertilise well — costing yield and the environment. I designed a multi-platform solution, web and mobile, shipped with devs: better yields and more responsible practices, from the same tool.

Digitalizing police controls, from A to Z.

Paper-based controls were slow and error-prone. I took a tablet app from research to shipped, hand in hand with developers — field-tested, with real impact on the way controls happen on the ground.

How I got here.

01

Always the person who wanted to solve the problem — in the most efficient way possible.

02

Started in consultancy at a big firm. Work hard, play hard — and there I fell for user-centric design.

03

Putting the human first: finding problems people didn't even know they had — and solving them.

04

Kept going, across industries. Curious — always. The work below is the proof.

Start with the human. End with a feeling.

01

Find the real problem

Often the one people can't yet put into words. That's the one worth solving.

02

Solve it efficiently

The simplest path that respects both the user and the constraints. No decoration for its own sake.

03

Sweat the experience

From first tap to last, it should feel considered. Because everything is an experience.
